The American Institute of Architects Hawaii State Council (AIA Hawaii), in partnership with the Hawaii Architectural Foundation, named local architect Daniel Chun, FAIA the 2019 Medal of Honor honoree.
Chun, principal of Kauahikaua & Chun, has served as an advocate in politics for architecture and interior design under the past five governors. His many years of dedicated service for the architecture profession has created a prosperous and effective environment for fellow and future design professionals.
Chun’s instrumental work advocating on behalf of the design profession at the Hawaii State legislature has upheld the key elements that protect the livelihood of our architecture community. Chun also notably served as the AIA’s long-standing Government Affairs Chair and Past President.
This honor is given to an architect who has significantly advanced the profession of architecture and whose leadership provides an inspiration to fellow practitioners.
Due to the COVID19 pandemic, the 2019 celebration was postponed until March 5, 2022. We look forward to celebrating with all of you very soon!
